Arsene Wenger going to church to pray for a good Champions League draw

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he will have to go church on Sunday to pray for a favourable draw on Monday in the UEFA Champions League.

The Gunners qualified for the second round on the Champions League, finishing in second position of the group, which means that they are likely to draw any of the big guns in the round of 16.

The Frenchman joked when asked about his expectations for the draws on Monday, saying that: "Maybe I will go to church over the weekend" on his Champions League hopes.

Arsenal have not been lucky in the latter draws in recent years, either facing Bayern Munich or Barcelona in the round of 16, especially because they have not been topping their group.

Meanwhile, Wenger added that he is delighted with their performance against Newcastle, which has somehow assuaged the fans calling for his head.

"The most important thing is that our fans go home happy because we won," Wenger said.
